Kerala proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement on World Tourism Day. Kanthalloor, located in Idukki district, has been honored with the prestigious tourism award announced by the Central Tourism Department. Kanthalloor has been awarded the prestigious title of the best tourism village in the country. Tourism Minister PA Muhammad Riaz expressed his pride in the recognition of the Kerala model.
The award has been given for the implementation of projects that involve people’s participation in order to promote tourism growth. The street project of the state tourism department has been implemented in Kanthallur, an area recognized for its contribution to this initiative.
The Responsible Tourism Mission, in association with the panchayat, implemented the project in Kanthalloor. The project was designed with a focus on preserving traditional lifestyles and promoting rural tourism.
