Nalumanikattu at encompasses everything in its name – Charubench, Alemkat, and paddy fields. For those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle, why should they search elsewhere? I eagerly await the calming embrace, allowing the four o’clock wind to gently awaken me. This roadside tourism project has become a model for the state itself. It has been designed to allow people to enjoy the beauty of paddy fields along the Manarkad-Etumanur bypass road.
Many tourists come here from different parts of the district to enjoy the evening breeze. The project, initiated in 2011 under the leadership of the Residents Association of Manarkad – Etumanoor Bypass Road, has made it an ideal destination for low-cost tourism.
The word “Nalumanikattu” means “4 o’clock breeze” in Malayalam.
Many entertainment facilities are also available here for children. One of the major attractions is Kudumbashree’s food stalls, offering local cuisine. These stalls have been set up using a completely plastic-free marketing method.
