The cave is approximately the height of one person and wide enough to comfortably accommodate up to 40 people. Inside the cave, the roots of the grandmother tree spread out like owl hands. To enter the cave, one must step on these roots.

According to one tale, it is possible to walk inside the cave for up to three kilometers. Another story suggests that these caves were once used as hideouts for war soldiers.

How to reach
Piramadam is located approximately 40 km away from Ernakulam. To reach Piramadam from Piravom town, one can take the route via Ramamangalam. It is in this area that the Kocharikkal caves are situated. What sets the Kochareekkal caves apart is that it takes around half a day to fully explore the place.
There are no shops or other establishments near Kochareekkal caves, except for a small tea shop. For food and other necessities for children, you can go to Ramamangalam, where you will find shops, ATMs, and hospitals.
