The main attraction of Kappimala is the waterfall, which can be reached by a one-kilometer trek from the peak where it begins. Along the way, you can spot houses and farms scattered sparsely throughout the area. Even before reaching the waterfall, the sound of falling water can be heard. The path leading up to it is a muddy dirt road, suitable only for two-wheelers. Along the way, you can also catch glimpses of streams scattered here and there.
The location where the waterfall cascades resembles a rocky pool. The force of the water intensifies during the monsoon season. It is advisable to refrain from venturing near the waterfall and swimming during this time.
There is a beautiful viewpoint near the waterfall where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding forest and valleys. From here, the scenery is clear and captivating.

From Kannur, it takes approximately 1 hour and 36 minutes to travel a distance of 52.3 kilometers via NH 66 and Taliparamba Coorg Rd/Taliparamba – Manakadavu – Coorg Rd.
Where is Kappimala Waterfalls
The hill town of Alakode can be reached by traveling 21 km from Kannur. From there, a 25 km drive on the Thaliparamb Manakadav Coorg road will take you to your destination. From there, turn right and climb the ridge for 6 km. You will come across a cross church. If you go left from there, you can reach the Paithalmala Trekking Point, and if you continue straight, you will reach the Kappimala Waterfalls.
