Bringing joy to hundreds of trekkers, trekking has commenced at the Banasura Hills Meenmutty Ecotourism Center in Wayanad district. The trekking route through Banasura Hill’s Meenmutty-Kattukunnu-Aanchola has been thoughtfully planned to preserve the pristine natural beauty of the region.
Please obtain your entry tickets from the counter near the entrance to the Meenmutty waterfalls. The trekking activity will commence early in the morning, led by an experienced guide. The lowest trekking rate, which includes the services of a guide, is Rs 2,860. A team of five members can walk up the hills, but the cost remains the same even if there are only two members. If the team consists of more than five members, each additional person should pay Rs 425 as trekking fees. All trekkers should report before 9 am, and latecomers will not be accommodated.
The trek will begin at 8 am and is expected to take approximately 4 hours to ascend and descend the Kaattukkunnu hill. However, trekking through the Sayippukunnu hill, located on the opposite side, is more challenging and will require nearly 8 hours to complete the hike.
You should carry food and drinking water, as well as some salt to ward off leeches during the monsoon season.. Once you traverse the initial stretch of forest and enter the lush meadows, the threat of leeches will decrease. You should definitely visit this beautiful place at least once in your lifetime. Entry ticket will be available early in the morning itself from the entrance counter to Meenmutty Falls a little away from Banasura Dam, with the help of the guide, the trucking can be started early in the morning. Minimum amount means minimum amount is Rs. 3110 including guide fee, they will assign a guide and give you maximum of five people in that amount, at least two more people should be paid. Each extra person will have to pay 413 rupees extra. Should reach before 9 am. Trekking is not possible for those who come after that. If the trekking starts at 9 AM in the morning, it will take about four hours to climb the hill known as Katu Kunn and reach down.
