Valara Falls is a beautiful waterfall located between Adimali in Idukki district and Neriamangalam in Ernakulam district. The Vala Falls on the Deviyan River, which originates from the Western Ghats, is very famous.
The water flows through the rock formations and falls from a height of approximately 100 feet, offering a spectacular waterfall view.
This waterfall is surrounded by dense forests, which are home to a variety of animals and birds. This is one of the best waterfalls near Munnar.
This waterfall is located approximately 300 feet from the Munnar-Koch highway. Standing on the side of the road, one can observe the water cascading from the top and flowing through the paddy fields before entering the forest area.
Although the Valara Falls are visible from the highway, a good trek is required to reach the bottom. The places around the falls are perfect for trekking, and the waterfall offers spectacular views during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.
Valara Falls is located approximately 2 km from Chiyapara Falls. The Thottiyal hydroelectric project is situated near this waterfall.
On the way to Munnar, many people bathe in the falling water near Valam Road, which is a popular stopover for tourists. When the forest area was lush, the water here was plentiful, even in summer.
